Artificial intelligence is really changing the way we all work, but the market seems to be a bit fragmented. Yes, that is a one-time payment for life. Get a lifetime subscription to 1minAI for a mere $39.99 This offer gets you access to the 1minAI Pro plan. Arrow Lake non-K CPUs may suffer from lower RAM speed limits — ASRock QVL shows RAM up to DDR5-7200 as opposed to DDR5-9066 for K-series chips

Uniko's Hardware brought a peculiar detail of the ASRock Z890 Taichi motherboard's RAM support to the attention of the wider tech sphere and how it rather uncharacteristically changes between Intel Core Ultra 200S (codenamed Arrow Lake) processors. To be specific, it seems that only Arrow Lake K-series Lake CPUs can support overclocked RAM speeds up to DDR5-9066, while Arrow Lake non-K parts will instead top out at DDR5-7200—quite a downside on such a premium board and for a DDR5 platform in general. DDR5-6000 was typically the sweet spot for AMD and Intel processors; however, it remains to be seen if the latest Red and Blue Team chips can take advantage of faster RAM. Of course, DDR5-7200 and DDR5-9066 kits exist, but the value proposition is a little more challenging to argue at that price range. So, while this is a disappointing turn of events, to say the least, it ultimately seems unlikely to impact most users or gamers. After all, most of the performance i mprovements

The MacRumors Show: Apple's Shocking M4 MacBook Pro Leak

On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we discuss the unprecedented leak of Apple's M4 MacBook Pro models and the company's rumored move to more staggered hardware and software releases. Multiple leaks surrounding Apple's unannounced 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 chip recently surfaced online. The leaks began with unboxing videos shared by several Russian YouTube channels, showcasing the new entry-level MacBook Pro ahead of its official announcement. These leaks were followed by a listing on a Russian classifieds site, where multiple units were allegedly being sold after what appears to be theft from a warehouse. This marks one of Apple's most significant leaks in recent memory, drawing comparisons to the 2010 iPhone 4 prototype incident. The leaked MacBook Pro reveals several notable upgrades. The M4 chip with a 10-core CPU is 25% faster than the M3's 8-core CPU. As rumored, it also comes with 16GB of RAM as the new base configuration, doubling

Apple's 16-Year-Old SuperDrive Now Out of Stock Worldwide, Likely Discontinued

A few months ago, the SuperDrive went out of stock on Apple's online store in the U.S., and it is now listed as sold out or unavailable in all countries. Given it has yet to return, it seems likely that Apple has discontinued the 16-year-old accessory. Introduced in 2008, the SuperDrive is an external CD/DVD drive that was released alongside the original MacBook Air, which lacked a built-in CD/DVD drive. Despite having an outdated USB-A cable attached to it, the SuperDrive remained available on Apple's online store until just recently, becoming one of the company's longest-sold products. CD/DVD drives have become a niche market, so it's not surprising that Apple has finally stopped selling the SuperDrive. There are plenty of other CD/DVD drives for customers who really need one, and they don't require a USB-C adapter for use with modern Macs. Nevertheless, it's the end of an era for a legacy technology at Apple.

Leak indicates AMD Ryzen 9000X3D series CPU gaming performance will disappoint

When it comes to performance in gaming benchmarks, AMD's Ryzen 9000-series does not exactly impress, due to the mediocre improvements observed over predecessors. Nevertheless, enthusiasts have kept alight higher hopes for the 3D V-Cache enabled Ryzen 9000X3D-series processors, expecting them to deliver a worthwhile performance uplift in games. Based on leaked images from an MSI presentation (via HardwareLuxx), though, their hopes may be dashed. The leaked benchmarks of AMD's upcoming Ryzen 9000X3D series indicate rather muted performance gains over the previous Ryzen 7000X3D and non-3D Ryzen 9000 models. In fact, we are talking about 11% to 13% higher gaming performance for both 8-core and 16-core CPUs, at least based on the presentation from MSI. Yet, there are more things to worry about. Based on the slides, the Ryzen 9000X3D-series outperforms the Ryzen 7000X3D by 11% (the 8-core Ryzen 7 9800X3D) to 13% (the 16-core model Ryzen 9 9950X3D) in gaming, as demonstrated in t

The NES game console has an unused expansion port, this NES Hub project could put it to use

Nintendo's first home game console to launch in North America was an 8-bit system with support for up to two removable controllers and a 15-pin expansion port on the bottom. But Nintendo never actually released any accessories for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) that use the expansion port. Over the years, some hardware hackers have decided to make put that port to use though. In 2015 Trapper McFerron used it to send tweets from an NES console. And a few years ago Perkka2 created an NES Expansion Port Sound Generator. Now hardware hacker RetroTime has designed the most versatile NES Expansion Port accessory to date. It's called the NES Hub. First unveiled earlier this year, it's now up for pre-order for $57. So what is the NES Hub, and what does it do? In a nutshell, it's a custom printed circuit board that plugs directly into the NES Expansion Port and brings support for: 4-player Bluetooth game controller input SNES controller input (with an &quo

iOS 18.1 Includes Option to Set 'Primary' Email Address and Change iCloud Email

In iOS 18.1, there is a new option to set a "Primary" email address in the Settings app, which means it is easier to change the main email address associated with your Apple Account. The Primary email address is the one that is visible to other people when collaborating on and sharing documents, sending calendar invites, and more. Apple did not previously make it easy to change an Apple Account (or Apple ID) email address, despite the fact that it is sometimes visible to other people. To change an Apple Account email before, you had to d elete the email you were using, choose another, and go through a verification process. You can now change the email address and continue to use the prior email for login purposes right alongside the new primary. This setting also comes with an option to change an iCloud.com or me.com email address, so if you have an address you're not fond of, it can finally be swapped to something else. Prior to iOS 18.1, Apple did not allow us

Chinese and Iranian hackers use ChatGPT and LLM tools to create malware and phishing attacks — OpenAI report has recorded over 20 cyberattacks created with ChatGPT

If there's one sign that AI is more trouble than it is worth, OpenAI confirms that over twenty cyberattacks have occurred, all created via ChatGPT. The report confirms that generative AI was used to conduct spear-phishing attacks, debug and develop malware, and conduct other malicious activity. The report confirms two cyberattacks using the generative AI ChatGPT. Cisco Talos reported the first in November 2024, which was used by Chinese threat actors who targeted Asian governments. This attack used a spear phishing method called 'SweetSpecter,' which includes a ZIP file with a malicious file that, if downloaded and opened, would create an infection chain on the user's system. OpenAI discovered that SweetSpecter was created using multiple accounts that used ChatGPT to develop scripts and discover vulnerabilities using an LLM tool. The second AI-enhanced cyberattack was from an Iran-based group called 'CyberAv3ngers' that used ChatGPT to exploit vulnerabilities

Intel Arrow Lake-S desktop chips can match Raptor Lake-R performance using half as much power

Intel's new Core Ultra 200S series processors, also known by the code-name Arrow Lake-S, are designed to do two things: offer significant gains in CPU, graphics, and AI performance and also reduce power consumption. The chip maker says that the new chips can deliver 15 percent better multithreaded CPU performance than previous-gen Raptor Lake Refresh chips sold under the 14th-gen Intel Core brand. But they can also match the performance of a Raptor Lake-R chip while consuming half as much power. The new chips also bring the latest Intel GPU and NPU technologies to the company's desktop processors. But it's really the CPU that's the focus for these new chips, as customers who want to use a desktop  for gaming are more likely to invest in a discrete GPU. So while the new processors have an Intel AI Boost NPU and integrated graphics based on Intel Arc architecture, much like the Intel Lunar Lake (Core Ultra 200V) mobile processors that launched earlier this year, I

Dell XPS 13 (9350) review: Lunar Lake on defense

Dell's XPS 13 is finally available with multiple CPU options. Where previously it only ever came with Intel processors, it's now available with both Intel's Core Ultra 2 "Lunar Lake" chips and Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite. The competition to be among the best ultrabooks is on. We tested the Snapdragon version previously, and while Dell's design is as divisive as ever, it's hard to argue with a mix of performance and power. That gave us high hopes for the Lunar Lake model. What the Intel version offers is more app compatibility, and long battery life, but the performance isn't as good as Qualcomm's. If you want a Dell XPS 13 with an x86 processor, the XPS 13 (9350) is for you. But if you're not worried about app compatibility, the Intel versions are challenged by Dell's embrace of Qualcomm. Design of the Dell XPS 13 (9350) Haven't I seen this movie? While Dell first introduced this chassis in 2022 with the XPS 13 Plus (which isn&#
