Reports from reliable sources suggest that Samsung is set to equip its Galaxy S25 series with the Snapdragon 8 Elite globally. The flagship devices are anticipated to be revealed during the fourth week of January, with the standard Galaxy S25 already appearing on Geekbench.
The Geekbench listing identifies the Galaxy S25 by the model number "SM-S931N," which likely corresponds to the Korean variant. It features a clock speed of 4.7 GHz and includes 12 GB of RAM, indicating that the device tested may be a 256 GB or 512 GB configuration.
Unfortunately, the performance metrics of the tested device are underwhelming, achieving a single-core score of 2481 and a multi-core score of 8658. These results are disappointing, particularly in light of the higher clock speeds of the Snapdragon 8 Elite designed for Galaxy devices, as other Snapdragon 8 Elite-equipped devices typically exceed scores of 3000 and 9000 in the same benchmarks. It is worth noting that "For Galaxy" chipsets generally yield lower scores than standard Snapdragon 8-series chipsets, due to Samsung's emphasis on efficiency over sheer performance.
Samsung Galaxy S25 series allegedly set for January 22 Unpacked event.
