The partnership with Google and Qualcomm marks the market debut of Samsung's smart glasses. The initial production will consist of 500,000 units, aiming to establish a competitive advantage over existing products such as those offered by Meta and Ray-Ban.

Featuring AI and augmented reality (AR) technologies, these glasses are designed to enhance interactivity and user experiences. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s AR1 chip to optimize performance and includes an auxiliary processor from NXP for additional computing capabilities. High-resolution imaging is supported by a 12MP Sony IMX681 camera, facilitating superior video and image capture.

Weighing only 50 grams, the glasses incorporate features such as gesture and human recognition, QR-based payment options, and extended usability powered by a 155mAh battery.

The software will integrate Google’s Gemini large language model, enhancing user interactions and contextual comprehension. Samsung revealed this development during its earnings report, with analysts predicting a potential showcase at the January Galaxy Unpacked event, along with the Galaxy S25. Experts foresee a substantial transformation in wearable technology, driven by the advancements in AI and AR.
