REDMAGIC's smartphones for gamers have always offered borderline ridiculous-for-a-smartphone specs, but the new REDMAGIC 10 Pro is probably the most ridiculous to date.

It's a smartphone with a nearly tablet-sized 6.85 inch display featuring a 144 Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, and a massive 7,050 mAh battery plus enhanced cooling that includes liquid metal, an 11-layer heat dissipation, and a 23,000 RPM fan. The REDMAGIC 10 Pro launched in China this week and should be available globally starting December 3, 2024.

Prices in China start at 4,999 CNY (about $690) for a model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, but there are also 16GB/512GB and 24GB/1TB options for those willing to pay more for a REDMAGIC 10 Pro+ mode.

The phone features LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage, and the display is a 2668 x 1216 pixel screen with up to 2,000 nits brightness, a 2,500 Hz touch sampling rate, and an under-display camera. There's also a RedCore 3 AI chip that the company says "enhances game interpolation and super resolution while intelligently managing power and temperature" for smoother gaming performance, while the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor delivers performance and efficiency improvements over the previous-generation REDMAGIC 9 Pro's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

Other features include stereo speakers, a 50MP primary rear camera with optical image stabilization, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 16MP front-facing camera, and support for NFC.

While it's unusual to find a phone with active cooling, REDMAGIC says fan noise should be minimal, generating just about 4 dB of sound. And of course it wouldn't be a gaming product without RGB lighting – users can customize lights that illuminate the fan area.
