MediaTek has announced the Dimensity 8350 SoC, which will be featured in the Oppo Reno13, Reno13 Pro, and Oppo Pad 3.

In a manner reminiscent of the 8250 and 8200 scenario, the 8350 appears to offer minimal advancements compared to its predecessor, the 8300. The chip is manufactured using a 4nm process and incorporates an eight-core processor with 3.35GHz Cortex-A715 prime cores.

The sole notable difference identified in MediaTek's documentation is the inclusion of the new StarSpeed Engine for gaming, replacing the previous HyperEngine utilized in the 8300.

The Dimensity 8350's StarSpeed is reported to provide a 10% reduction in power consumption (24% during high and full frame settings), a 24% improvement in scene transition speed, and reduced jitter. However, MediaTek has not clarified whether these enhancements are comparative to the 8300 or another chipset.

The Dimensity 8350 consists of the aforementioned four Cortex-A715 cores alongside four Cortex-A510 cores. It employs a Mali-G615 MC6 for graphics processing. The SoC supports Quad-channel LPDDR5X memory with speeds of up to 8533Mbps and storage capabilities of up to UFS 4.0. Additionally, it features a multi-core MediaTek NPU 780 for AI functionalities, as well as Bluetooth 5. The chip can support display refresh rates of up to 180Hz (in Full HD+) or 120Hz (WQHD+). For photography, it accommodates camera resolutions of up to 320MP for a single unit or a triple configuration of 32MP. Video recording is supported at 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.
