All Raspberry Pi models are incredibly useful gadgets that are also incredibly fun to play with. Infinition, a company that understands this better than anyone else, has created a truly remarkable project called Bjorn. This clever creation serves as a versatile network assessment tool for penetration testing and similar activities, but it also doubles as an enjoyable experience thanks to its game-like user interface.

Bjorn is a comprehensive network assessment system, but it also bears the name of the adorable little Viking character that graces the display. As you perform various tasks, Bjorn displays different graphics that correspond to the features you’re using. Additionally, Bjorn levels up as you continue using the system based on your actions.

Beyond its Tamagotchi-inspired user interface, Bjorn has been programmed with a range of useful features. You can use Bjorn to scan networks for open ports and vulnerabilities. It can also execute system attacks by brute-forcing various protocols, such as FTP and SSH. Furthermore, Bjorn can even ransack networks and steal their data—or rather, it can implement file stealing by exploiting vulnerabilities detected within the network.

According to the official documentation, Bjorn is designed to work with the Raspberry Pi Zero W or Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W. While it works with both older and newer models of Pi Zero, it requires wireless support. However, we’ve seen evidence of other makers successfully running Bjorn on a Raspberry Pi 3B+. Infinition recommends connecting the Pi to a Waveshare 2.13-inch e-Ink display hat for visual output.

If you’re excited about this creation, you’re in luck! Infinition has decided to make the project entirely open-source, allowing you to recreate it at home with your own Raspberry Pi. For more information about how it works and to play with it firsthand, visit the official Bjorn project page on GitHub.

This is undoubtedly one of the more unique Raspberry Pi projects we’ve encountered, and it’s fascinating to see a useful tool given a fun interface. However, it’s important to note that the tools provided by Bjorn should be used with utmost caution and are intended for ethical hacking purposes only. Do not use this tool for illegal or immoral activities.
