I accidentally found a Duolingo cheat, and now I wish I hadn’t

I'm a bit addicted to Duolingo in the quest to improve my Spanish. I know it isn't the best tutor, but I'm too lazy to take traditional classes. Plus, I can dip into the educational app a couple of times per day and feel as if I'm improving. I happily embrace my mild addiction — how bad can an addiction to learning be? Except it's not learning Spanish that I'm actually addicted to, which is why stumbling upon this Duolingo cheat has slightly ruined the app for me. Some of you might be interested in why I'm disappointed, but more of you probably want to know about the Duolingo cheat. I'm happy to share it. What's the Duolingo cheat? It's more of a bug than a cheat, but it's a way of generating XP quite quickly and, crucially, without learning a thing. You can see me exploiting it in the video above. On the mobile app, go to the Exercises section and choose the Speak practice. This exercise is already quite an eas

Projections show that Arm CPUs will power 40% of notebooks sold in 2029

A semiconductor-focused market intelligence firm has charted the rise of the Arm architecture in the notebook market up to 2030. In a new research bulletin, TechInsights predicts that 40% of notebooks sold by the decade's end will be based on SoCs using the Arm architecture (via ITHome). This would mark a massive shift away from the x86 architecture. Moreover, TechInsights' presumably independent research partially validates Arm Holdings CEO Rene Haas' bold claim that the Windows-on-Arm device market share "could be better than 50%" in the next five years. According to TechInsights data, the global notebook PC market's x86/Arm market share is currently split around 82/18. In 2025, the needle will not have significantly moved when the new breed of Windows-on-Arm "AI PCs" will have had a full calendar year of availability. TechInsights sees an x86/Arm market share split of 80/20. The source says that if TechInsights is correct, momentum will stay wit

TSMC could build more fabs in Europe: Chairman of Taiwan's National Science Council

Wu Cheng-wen, the chairman of Taiwan's National Science Council, said in an interview with Bloomberg that TSMC plans to build more fabs in Europe in addition to its facility near Dresden, Germany. While the Dresden fab built by ESMC, a joint venture between TSMC, Bosch, Infineon, and NXP, will focus primarily on chips for Germany's automotive industry, other fabs are said to focus on the AI sector, which implies on fairly advanced process technologies.  "They have started construction of the first fab in Dresden; they are already planning the next few fabs in the future for different market sectors as well," Wu Cheng-wen said in the interview with Bloomberg TV.  Wu did not provide details on the timing of TSMC's additional expansion plans in Europe, which pretty much means that at this point this expansion plans are essentially speculations. In an emailed response to Bloomberg, TSMC stated that it is concentrating on its ongoing global projects and currently has
