The new MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Evo (A2VMG) is a thin and light laptop with a big battery, a high quality display, and support for up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 288V processor.

Unveiled during the IFA show in Berlin earlier this month, the 2.2 pound notebook is now available for pre-order for $1400. It's expected to begin shipping September 24, 2024.

What you get for that price is a laptop with a 13.3 inch, 2880 x 1800 pixel OLED display, an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor, 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, a 75 Wh battery, a 5MP IR webcam with a privacy shutter, Intel Killer WiFi 7 BE1750 (with WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support), and a 65W USB Type-C power adapter.

Ports include:

  • 2 x Thunderbolt 4
  • 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
  • 1 x HDMI 2.1
  • 1 x 3.5mm audio jack
  • 1 x microSD card reader
  • Like all laptops with Intel Lunar Lake processors, the LPDDR5x-8533 memory is on the same package as the processor and cannot be replaced or upgraded. But the SSD is an PCIe Gen 4 x4 M.2 card that can be replaced.

Other features include a backlit keyboard, stereo speakers, 3 microphones, and ambient light and proximity sensors.

    The notebook measures 299 x 210 x 16.9mm (11.77″ x 8.27″ x 0.67″) and weighs 990 grams (2.18 pounds).

While the only model available for pre-order in the United States so far features an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor, MSI says the laptop supports up to a Core Ultra 9 288V chip, so it's possible we could see higher-priced configurations in some markets in the future.
