The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon line of laptops have crammed powerful hardware into thin and light designs for years. But the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition is one of the most lightweight models to date, while also sporting a high-quality display and an Intel Lunar Lake processor.
Those features come at a steep price though: Lenovo says the new laptop will sell for $1,999 and up when it goes on sale in November.
Lenovo's new ultralight notebook measures 312.8 x 214.8 x 14.4mm (12.31″ x 8.45″ x 0.56″) at its thickest point and has a starting weight of 980 grams, or about 2.16 pounds. But it's been MIL-STD-810H tested for durability and features a chassis made from a combination of carbon fiber, magnesium, and aluminum.
The notebook has a 14 inch, 2880 x 1800 pixel OLED display with support for refresh rates up to 120 Hz and up to 400 nits brightness. It's available with up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 288V Lunar Lake processor with Intel Arc 140V graphics and a 48 TOPS NPU. And the laptop has a set of ports that includes:
Like most Lunar Lake laptops, the system also ships with support for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Lenovo also plans to offer a 5G sub-6GHz cellular modem option starting in 2025.
Under the hood there's support for up to 32GB of LPDDR5x-8533 memory and up to a 2TB PCIe Gen 5 SSD. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Aura Edition laptop has a user-replaceable 57 Wh battery and comes with a 65W USB Type-C GaN power adapter.
Other features include stereo speakers and dual microphones, a FHD webcam with infrared support for face recognition and a privacy shutter, a backlit keyboard, and a fingerprint sensor.
