The maker of the Retroid line of handheld game consoles plans to launch a new model with a compact design and an OLED display.
The upcoming Retroid Pocket Mini features a 3.7 inch, 1280 x 960 pixel OLED display with a 4:3 aspect ratio between a set of game controllers. Retroid hasn't announced full specs, a price, or release date yet, but those details should be unveiled closer to launch.
For now we know that the Pocket Mini measures 165 a 77 x 17mm (6.5″ x 3″ x 0.67″) and features a set of controllers that includes dual analog sticks, a D-Pad, four action buttons, and shoulder triggers.
That makes it close in size to the Retroid Pocket 2S, but the new model has an updated design with rounder corners and function keys that are a little more spread out.
Other confirmed features include a USB-C port, headphone jack, and microSD card reader.
Most existing Retroid Pocket handhelds are relatively inexpensive devices with prices ranging from around $90 to $149. They feature ARM-based processors and Android-based operating systems. I'd be surprised if the Retroid Pocket Mini broke that mold in any significant way.
