Lenovo has published a user guide for a pair of previously unannounced Chrome OS 2-in-1 devices: a new Chromebook Duet and the Chromebook Duet EDU G2.

Like Lenovo's current-gen Duet models, both are 11-inch tablets that can be docked to a thin keyboard with an integrated trackpad. The tablet itself measures 7.6mm thick and the folio keyboard adds 6.7mm. Lenovo's kickstand adds another 3.2mm, which increases to 14.35mm on the EDU version — no doubt a result of increasing protection against drops and mishandling.

Lenovo hasn't issued a press release announcing the new tablets yet, so we don't have any information about how much they'll cost or when they'll be available. But thanks to the user manual, we do know just about everything else about the upcoming tablet.

Compared with the current-gen Chromebook Duet, the new models for 2024 have a form factor  that remains nearly same, with length and width have changed by a few millimeters. The weight has only changed slightly as well, dropping by just 6.5g.

The touchscreen has changed a bit, too, and now measures 10.95 inches diagonally. Its native resolution is also just a tad lower at 1920 × 1200 pixels instead of 2000 x 1200.

Inside there's a much bigger change. Lenovo opted to use a MediaTek Kompanio 838 processor this time rather than a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip. The Kompanio 838 is built on a 7nm die and MediaTek claims that the Kompanio 838 posts CPU benchmarks that are 66% better than its Kompanio 500 series.

Graphics benchmarks are "up to 76% better," and support for AV1 decoding is now built-in. The Kompanio 838 also features a dedicated AI chip as well as Wi-Fi 6 and 6E support.

The angled kickstand is new, too, though it's worth noting that Lenovo went with a more standard crease on the EDU model. Other new features include a camera privacy switch and

It looks as though Lenovo will offer two configurations: one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage and another with 8GB of RAM and 128GB.

Lenovo doesn't have a regular release cadence for new Chromebook Duet models, so we'll have to wait for the company to offer up more than an early look at the user manual to find out what they'll cost and when they'll be available to purchase.
