Deal: I can finally afford one of those huge 49-inch Samsung ultrawide monitors!

I've always wanted one of those huge, curved, ultrawide Samsung monitors, but they are always insanely expensive, often costing multiple thousands of dollars. Thanks to this deal, though, I may finally be able to afford one! The Samsung Viewfinitiy S9 49-inch ultrawide monitor is 33% off, bringing the full price down to $800. Get the Samsung Viewfinitiy S9 49-inch ultrawide monitor for just $800 This offer is available from Amazon, and it is labeled as a "limited time deal." This means it shouldn't be too long before the price goes back to normal. The Samsung Viewfinitiy S9 49-inch ultrawide monitor is mainly made for office dwellers and business users, while most other super ultrawide monitors are gaming screens. This means the look of this monitor is much more undertoned, as are the general specs, but the specs aren't bad, they just aren't insanely good. For example, this model has a 49-inch panel with a 5120 x 1440 Dual QHD resol

E Ink faces growing competition in the “paper-like” display space

All prices are subject to change, and this article only reflects the prices available at time of publication. For the past few decades, E Ink has dominated the market for the paper-like displays found in eBook readers and other devices. The screens are high-contrast, easy to view indoors or outdoors, don't require a backlight, don't reflect glare, and consume very little power. But E Ink displays also have slow screen refresh rates, limited support for color (on models that support any color at all), and generally aren't very useful for high-motion graphics like videos or games. So while there are a handful of companies producing E Ink smartphones and tablets, they tend to be niche devices. And now we're seeing a growing number of companies offer

Adata Legend 970 Pro SSD review: More pretender than contender

Adata has finally delivered the first real PCIe 5.0 SSD that doesn't use a Phison E26 controller. Curiously, the new model gets the Legend 970 Pro name, taking over from the earlier Legend 970. What differences does one word make? Quite a lot, as the new variant can read up to 4 GB/s faster under ideal conditions. As we know by now, though, the specs on the box don't always match reality. Does Adata have a winner on its hands this time, and can the Legend 970 Pro join the ranks of the best SSDs? We can at least applaud the cooling, as it features a capable heatsink paired with a fan that's powered through the M.2 slot — no annoying external connector required! That alone helps it stand out, but the Legend 970 Pro also brings a new controller to the table with the InnoGrit IG5666. Previous high-end PCIe 5.0 drives we've reviewed, like the Sabrent Rocket 5, rely on Phison's E26 instead. Performance at this level doesn't come cheap. For that matter, neither is

A few days left: Watch this comedy gem before it leaves Netflix

If you're looking for a good laugh this weekend, it may be a good idea to settle in and watch a classic comedy that's leaving Netflix on the 31st of this month. I'm talking about Liar Liar. A Jim Carrey gem. A movie that showcases his comedic strengths while giving you a little something to think about. Let's get into what this movie has to offer to you. What makes Liar Liar special The premise of the movie is simple. Jim Carrey's character, Fletcher Reede, is a great lawyer, a bad father, and a questionable human being. All of this is because of his uncanny ability to lie. He lies for his clients, making straight-faced arguments and fabricating stories so he wins every case, cementing his reputation as an excellent lawyer with shaky morals. Rich, shifty people clamor to become his clients. However, this ability to lie holds him back in the other areas of his life. No one trusts him. His loyal wife has lost faith, divorced him, and moved on. The o

Apple Reportedly in Talks to Invest in ChatGPT Maker OpenAI

Apple is in talks to invest in artificial intelligence company OpenAI, according to sources cited by The Wall Street Journal. The report did not indicate how much money Apple would be investing in OpenAI, or provide any additional details about the discussions, but it said this latest fundraising round would value the ChatGPT maker above $100 billion. Apple previously announced that ChatGPT integration is coming to Siri on iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia before the end of the year. With user permission, Siri will be able to show ChatGPT answers directly in response to questions and other prompts. ChatGPT will also be an option for Apple's system-wide Writing Tools feature, allowing users to generate text and images. Apple said ChatGPT will be powered by OpenAI's latest GPT-4o model on its platforms. iPhone, iPad, and Mac users will be able to use ChatGPT for free, without creating an account, and ChatGPT Plus subscribers will be able to connect their accounts to

Dreamcast-inspired mini-PC plays your favorite console games — EmuDeck Machine features up to a Ryzen 5 8600G, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD

Your eyes don't deceive you: the Bazzite-powered EmuDeck Machine Mini PC launched today on Indieogogo is a few logos and steps removed from a Sega Dreamcast— though it's larger, with each size of its "square" measuring 8.7 inches compared to Dreamcast's longest side measuring 7.75 inches. The EmuDeck Machine, in both its EM1 and EM2 configurations, includes four USB Type-A slots occupying the front "controller" ports of this Mini PC, half USB 2 and USB 3, judging by their color. The chassis also includes physical power and reset buttons, though no disc drive despite its distinct shape. But let's not ignore the elephant in the room: if you're a Steam Deck user, you may have used EmuDeck software before. User "dragoonDorise," who launched the EmuDeck Machines on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo, is also one of many parties responsible for maintaining EmuDeck, a well-known frontend for installing and configuring multiple emulators for

The Eureka J20’s RollRenew Moping System is groundbreaking

Eureka Robot vacuum and mop combos are a lifesaver for any household, making the otherwise time-consuming chore of maintaining pristine floors a breeze. A flagship robot vacuum can set you back well beyond a thousand dollars if you want all the bells and whistles. But most tend to fall short in one key are — active mopping. Most robot mops struggle with tough spills like, say, tomato sauce or coffee stains, where you not only run the risk of spreading out the mess but also have dirty mop pads that will stain the floors of other rooms. We all tend to pull out a stick mop or a wet/dry vacuum to manually clean tough, stubborn stains. But what if you didn't have to anymore? That's where the Eureka J20 comes in! Here's what you need to know. Eureka's RollRenew™ Mopping System is a game-changer Eureka Eureka makes some excellent handheld wet/dry vacuums, so it's no surprise that it was one of the first to bring the mopping feature from the

It features NIVDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics, a 13th-gen Intel Core H-series processor configured to run at up to 65 watts, and a liquid cooling system designed to keep everything running smoothly. A preview for the campaign is already live. Before we dive into the hardware, a note on this computer's pedigree. The company that first unveiled the MEGAMINI G1 is a Chinese brand called TECNO. But this summer Chinese mini PC maker GEEKOM announced it was teaming up with TECNO to bring the little gaming PC to market, promising we'd have more details during the IFA show in Berlin (which takes place next week). So it's unsurprising to see GEEKOM listed as the creator of the upcoming crowdfunding campaign. Previously we'd learned that the compute

On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we discuss Apple's recently announced "It's Glowtime" event for September 9 and what we're expecting from this year's M4 Mac models. EKWB's future looks grim — key personnel jump ship to Noctua and Thermal Grizzly

Some of EK Water Block's top employees are now leaving the company, with Head of Product Marketing Attila Gobor reportedly joining Noctua and Lead Product Designer Joe Robey moving to Thermal Grizzly as its Head of Mechanical R&D. This news, as reported by OC3D, is the latest blow in a series of setbacks that the water-cooling giant is experiencing. The issue first came to light in April of this year when reports surfaced that EKWB had left its employees and suppliers unpaid for four months. It was soon confirmed by its CEO and founder, Edvard König, who promised to rectify problems and right the EKWB ship. All this happened nearly two years after the company cut its workforce by 25% percent, significantly as global sales of water-cooling solutions dropped precariously. However, even after stepping back into the reins of leadership, it seems that EKWB is still not on track to profitability. The problem of EKWB's workforce's unpaid salaries has become so p revalent t

Apple Sports App to Offer Live Scores and Play-by-Play for More Leagues on iPhone's Lock Screen

Apple today announced several new features and changes coming to its Sports app on the iPhone. Starting with iOS 18 and watchOS 11, the Apple Sports app will offer Live Activities for all teams and leagues available in the app, according to Apple. Live Activities provides live scores and play-by-play information at a glance on the iPhone's Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island on newer models, and on the Apple Watch. Apple added that Live Activities will no longer be available in the Apple TV app with iOS 18. Apple said the Sports app has also been optimized for the latest NFL and college football seasons. The app now offers "quick access to scoring drives presented alongside the view of every game play," along with a new dynamic drive tracker that "lets fans visualize where the ball is on the field at any time," the press release said. In addition, Apple said the app will be updated later this year with a new drop-down navigation and enhanced search f

Nvidia's quarterly revenue hits record $30 billion on AI GPU boom

Driven by unprecedented demand for AI GPUs, Nvidia on Wednesday posted its all-time-record quarterly revenue of $30.040 billion. Yet its gross margins dropped a bit as the company prepped for its Blackwell product rollout in the fourth quarter. Surprisingly, even Nvidia's gaming revenue was up in the second quarter, which is not typical at all.  Nvidia's revenue for the second quarter of its fiscal 2025 reached $30.040 billion, up 122% year-over-year and 15% quarter-over-quarter. The company's net income for the quarter totaled $18.642 billion, up a modest 10% sequentially but a whopping 174% compared to the same quarter a year ago. However, Nvidia's gross margin for the quarter was 75.1%, up 5% from Q2 FY2024 but down 3.3% from Q1 FY2025, as the company produced a low-yield Blackwell design in preparations for volume launch late this year. China invested $6.1 billion in a state data center project in two years — the "Eastern Data, Western Computing" project aims to utilize the country's undeveloped land

China invested $6.1 billion (or, more accurately, 43.5 billion yuan) into its new "Eastern Data, Western Computing" data center project launched in 2022. While many of its neighbors and global rivals attempt to restrict its technological ability, China is installing millions of server racks and computers connecting its western and eastern regions. Liu Liehong, director of China's National Data Bureau, revealed the 43.5 billion yuan figure to the press today at the Big Data Expo, a worldwide data conference held in southwest China. Guizhou Province, where the Expo is being hosted, is a major hub within China for data centers, notable for being the region where Apple's Chinese data servers are located. The "Eastern Data, Western Computing" initiative was first revealed by the Chinese government in 2021 and launched in the first months of 2022. Most of China's urban hubs are near the eastern coast, creating infrastructural crowding. Western China is wide
