It seems that Google may have inadvertently revealed the Pixel 8a in a Google Fi wireless ad. The Pixel 8a has not been officially announced yet, but it is highly likely that Google is planning to release it later this year, given the numerous leaks of the device - from renders to supposed live images and various color options. While leaks usually come from sources other than the manufacturer, this potential leak is intriguing because it may have come directly from Google. A report from GSM Arena highlighted the possibility that the Pixel 8a design was shown in the ad, as noted by a user named Frutejuise on YouTube.
One distinct feature of the Pixel 8a is the absence of a microphone next to the LED flash, which is present on the regular Pixel 8. In the leaked images and the Fi ad, this mic is noticeably missing. Additionally, the phones in the ad are shown in colors only available on the Pixel 8 Pro, indicating that they are not Pro models due to the lack of a third camera sensor and the matte frame finish, as opposed to the glossy finish on the Pro model.
Although not definitive proof, the similarities between the ad image and previously leaked images suggest that this could indeed be the Pixel 8a. The unique colors further hint that this is likely Google's upcoming A series device.
